Liquid sloshing affects a wide range of sectors, including aviation, transportation, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, and nuclear. Sloshing can also occur in vaccination vials while they are being transported. This phenomenon can be a major issue when the impact of the liquid on the container walls results in high impact loads.
As a result, care must be taken to protect the quality of both the container and the content inside. By utilizing CFD numerical simulations, we can investigate sloshing and the challenges it raises. The goal of this lesson is to understand sloshing and its related issues, as well as to get a basic outline of the steps to perform a transient multiphase CFD-simulation of sloshing in a Vial bottle, such as that utilized in the pharmaceutical sector.
